Census data ranked Louisiana 49th for college degree attainment. Perhaps only 29.1 percent of adults possess at least an associate degree because higher education is costly. It’s estimated that Louisiana colleges charge an average tuition of $5,601 in-state and $14,499 out-of-state per year. Certain private, nonprofit institutions cost considerably more too. For instance, Loyola University New Orleans has a sticker price of $39,492! Don’t be discouraged though because financial aid significantly lowers these rates.
