With the continued growth of computing systems, cloud storage, and data analysis, the IT field is expected to grow by 13% by 2026, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics – that's higher than the average for all occupations and equal to more than half a million new jobs. The rising field of cybersecurity, especially on a corporate and federal level, only raises the temperature of this hot field.

And the IT industry has salaries that match the field's growth. The median salary for a computer network architect was $109,020 in 2018, according to the BLS. Other salaries include computer and information systems manager at $142,530, a computer programmer at $84,280, and computer and information research scientist at $118,370. The university uses Blackboard as its primary online classroom tool. Each class lasts eight weeks; there are eight starting points for classes in a calendar year. Liberty, a non-profit institution, says tuition for the IT master's degree hasn't increased in four years. Please note the religion plays a large role in the Liberty experience. Referring to the IT master's degree, the university says on its website that its goal is "to develop information technology professionals with a Christian worldview." A prerequisite for the master's program is a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, earned with a 3.0 GPA or better.
